The extrasolar planets list has just grown by 10 with the new extrasolar finds by cameras in the Canary Islands and South Africa. The discovery of these new extrasolar planets increases the list of extrasolar planets to nearly three-hundred with around forty-five more expected to be added to the list by July 2008. The total number of discoveries is expected to continue to increase at a rapid pace throughout the rest of this year and beyond because of the number of astronomers now looking for new extrasolar planets with more efficient methods of detection. The transit method of extrasolar planet detection was used to make the new discoveries and is becoming a popular technique in the extrasolar research community due to the time savings and the vast number of stars that can be studied simultaneously.
